The #ResponderReadiness Workshop Series

The 3-Day #ResponderReadiness Workshop Series brings together three of First H.E.L.P.’s Readiness Training Workshops to train an entire community of First Responders. The program consists of two Responder Readiness Workshops where First Responders participate in dynamic and highly engaging training on matters of Performance, Persistence, and Prevention. The workshop is an exploration of how trauma and stress impact our lives and careers and what we can do about it. Participants will leave prepared to confront their own stressors, engage peers in an #IWillListen Conversation using the Results Oriented Communication Model, and have a set of five resilience skills they can practice on and off the job. The supervisor class builds on these lessons and dives into policies, family readiness, and leveraging brief encounters with employees to improve agency wellness. Mental Health Providers are invited to the Provider Readiness program to explore ways of effectively partnering agencies and serving with First Responders in their communities. On the final day of the series we offer a #ResponderReadiness Train-the-Trainer program to empower local supervisors and agency trainers to return to their departments prepared to share what they’ve learned.
